We are one month away from the deadline to register for Summer School and the 2025-26 school year! Summer School is tentatively scheduled for June 2-30, 2025.
All families must complete the online registration by May 2, 2025, to ensure transportation for both 2025 Summer School and the 2025-2026 school year. Summer School is tentatively scheduled for June 2 - June 30, 2025. If registration is not complete by the deadline, your student will not receive transportation for the first full week of summer school or for the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

Congratulations to Valley Middle School ELA/Speech and Drama teacher Brook Culleton. She is this week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree! VMS Assistant Principal Pam Helferstay said "She has the most profound effect on students. They come into her class scared to even stand up in front of their classmates. They leave with all the confidence in the world and hoping to take Mrs. Culleton's next class." Thank you for all you do for our students, Mrs. Culleton!

Congratulations go out to Valley Middle School food service staff member Eleana Rauscher, this week's #SupportStaffSuperstar! VMS principal Dr. Spencer Storey said "Not only does she do a fantastic job in food service, she starts so many students' days off on the right foot...She has a knack for connecting with all students." Congratulations, Ms. Eleana, and thank you for all you do for our students and staff!

Welcome back, Lion Nation! We hope you had a fantastic spring break and are ready to finish the school year strong! Just like school, construction on the Valley Middle School addition is in full swing today. Let's make the rest of the school year amazing!

We dropped in on Mrs. Meade's 8th grade ELA class for a mock trial based on the Edgar Allen Poe story "The Tell-Tale Heart." Students acted as prosecution, defense, the defendant, judge, jury, and even the bailiff. As mock
trials sometimes go, a verdict has not been reached as of the end of class.

Due to snow covered roads and continued snow, the Northwest R-I School District will be closed for a traditional snow day on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Our last day of school is now scheduled to be Friday, May 30, 2025.
Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy your snow day.

Good morning, Lion Nation. The snow band arrived early this morning and looks to keep going through the morning commute. Though this band is light, it will accumulate, and we are expecting heavy snow around dismissal.
Out of an abundance of precaution, the Northwest R-I School District will be closed on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Be safe, stay warm, and enjoy your snow day.

Due to forecasted wintry precipitation, the Northwest R-I School District will have an AMI DAY on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The weather may be cold, but construction is heating up!
Today, we broke ground on the Fine Arts addition at Valley Middle School! The addition is projected to be finished and ready for students this fall!
Thank you to our community for passing our bond issue, Proposition S, which makes this progress possible.

In the Spring of every year, the Northwest School District recognizes outstanding employees and community members for their dedication to our students, staff, and community.
