Water has overtaken many of the roads in the Northwest School District today. Currently, the Big River is set to crest at 28’ at 6:00 p.m. tonight. We would not have time for the water to recede and for us to have adequate time to check roads before morning buses. Therefore, we are going to have another (Alternative Method of Instruction) AMI day Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024.

Dear Northwest Families,
We have been monitoring the flooding and watching the forecast of the Big River. Several roads in the district are impassable and the Big River will crest during school hours tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, we will have an Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) day November 6, 2024.

Graduating from high school is an exciting milestone for students, often marking the start of a new journey into college, a career, or a vocational path. However, some students encounter challenges in making these transitions smoothly and benefit from extra support. The STEPUP Program, offered by Lafayette Industries to several Northwest R-I School District seniors and others in the St. Louis metropolitan area, is designed to bridge this gap.
